Ex-Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel shaves beard, looks unrecognizable

When you think about Craig Kimbrel, one of the first things that come to mind is his trademark long red beard.

Well, not anymore.

The former Boston Red Sox closer decided it was time for a change. Now with the Chicago Cubs, Kimbrel showed off a clean-shaven look Friday night. Needless to say, he looks like a totally different person.

That’ll take some getting used to.

Kimbrel hasn’t made an appearance for the Cubs yet in 2020, but perhaps the shaved beard indicates a fresh start for the 2018 World Series champion. In 2019, Kimbrel struggled in Chicago posting a 6.53 ERA in 23 appearances.
