Joan Laporta is certainly one of the favorites to become Barcelona’s president. He faces off against Victor Font and Toni Freixa for the job in March, and has already set a plan in motion for his signings once the election is over.
The presidential favorite was asked about the possibility of signing players in summer, such as Erling Haaland, and chatted a bit about the “cards” he has ready to play to get players in and out amidst the financial uncertainty of the club.
“I have all the cards ready to deal with these situations,” Laporta said.
“It’s because of the experience and the knowledge I have of the people who could intervene in all these situations. I want to send a message of calm to the Barcelona fans.
“We will be economically sustainable again and if we need to improve the sports teams, I have all the cards ready to be played.
