NBA Will earn more than 94 million this season
LeBron James remains the man with the Midas touch in the NBA, and for the seventh consecutive season he will be the highest-earning player as he continues to reach new heights.
The 36-year-old isn’t actually the highest-paid player in the NBA in terms of his playing salary, but his off-court interests put him beyond his basketball peers.
According to Forbes, James will earn 94.5 million dollars this season, with 64 million of that coming from sources other than his Los Angeles Lakers salary.
Those non-sporting earnings are a record for a US sportsperson and put James in an elite group along with Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Floyd Mayweather as sportspeople with career earnings of over a billion dollars.
In 2014 Michael Jordan became the first athlete to achieve nine zeros in his bank account, but by that time the NBA legend was already retired from the game.
James‘ total for this season puts him within touching distance of Tiger Woods and Mayweather as the only athletes to earn 100 million dollars in a single year.
