Arturo Vidal has moved from FC Barcelona to Inter Milan. Lionel Messi loses one of his closest caregivers on the team. The superstar responds with an emotional post.
Lionel Messi regrets Arturo Vidal’s move to Inter Milan. The former Bundesliga player moves from FC Barcelona to the Italian top club Inter Milan. “You’ll miss the cabin,” Messi wrote in an Instagram post to Vidal. He has always admired Vidal as an opponent, the happier he is to have met him in person over the past two years, according to the six-time world footballer.
Messi’s last sentence against Vidal caused a stir: “I’m sure we’ll see each other again.” A spectacular transfer posse had developed around the Argentinian in recent weeks. After Barcelona’s embarrassing 8-2 defeat to Bayern in the Champions League semi-final, Messi unilaterally ended his contract with the Catalans. The club questioned the legality of the clause Messi was referring to in his actions. After several discussions, public accusations and statements, the 33-year-old decided to honor his contract, which was due to expire in the summer of 2021. Before that, however, there were repeated rumors that Messi had reached an agreement with Inter Milan on a transfer. As an indication of the agreement, use was made of a luxury property that he had acquired in the Italian metropolis.
Fans of both Barcelona and Inter are now speculating whether Messi will join the “Nerazzurri” in the summer of 2021. The rumor is mainly fueled by Vidal’s reaction to his ex-teammate’s declaration of love. There the Chilean writes to Messi: “We will see you soon.” After today’s last medical check-up, Vidal signs a two-year contract with Inter – so nothing stands in the way of a season with Messi 2021/2022 in Milan.
